Luc Berthold Confirms Plan to Stay in Office and Run for Re-Election Despite Cancer Diagnosis

Conservative MP Luc Berthold has made it clear that he has no plans to step down following his prostate cancer diagnosis.

“Rest assured, I have no intention of resigning, and I will be a candidate in the next federal election for the new riding of Mégantic-l’Érable-Lotbinière,” Berthold stated.

He acknowledged, however, that he will need to take a short leave to recover from surgery. “I’ll need to take a few weeks off to recover from the operation to remove my sick prostate.
